Director of Client Services

When and in what role did you join the company?
I joined Attenda in June 2001, just after the fateful Dot Com bubble burst. Attenda was still in comparatively good shape to other businesses in the industry and full of start up optimism.  I joined in the capacity of Business Project Manager and was responsible for managing many of the technology evaluation projects and the roll out of a number of core systems on our Service Delivery Platform.

What other roles have you held within the company?
I have been fortunate enough to have had many roles within Attenda. I tend to get itchy feet about every 2 years and want a new and different challenge, and fortunately as Attenda has grown fresh challenges have always presented themselves. After my initial Business Project Manager role, I became a Service Implementation Manager, predominantly working along side some of our largest Clients designing and implementing bespoke services. This role was also responsible for the introduction of many new products and services into our Product Portfolio for example UNIX and SAP.

From there, I took over the management of both the Solution Architecture & Consulting and then later the Service Delivery Management teams. Most recently, I am Director of Client Services responsible for the Solution Architecture, Project Management and the Sales Support team. I also have an overlay role in the Operational Management team, a small team focussed on making the company run as efficiently and as effectively as possible whilst still maintaining the high levels of client satisfaction Attenda is used to enjoying.

How do you feel you have progressed within your roles?
With every new role I have taken on I have been significantly stretched, but have never felt unsupported by the excellent management structure in place. This has meant that I have been able to take on exciting challenges with the comfort that I have the breathing space to grow into and develop the role in the knowledge that a buoyancy aid would soon be at hand if I start to drown.

How has Attenda helped with this progression?
Both the management team and the high quality of people at Attenda have been big enablers to my progression over the last 8 years. Also, since Attenda is such a young and rapidly growing company I have been fortunate to get exposure to parts of the business that you may not necessarily in an established monolithic company.
