As responsible corporate members of society, Attenda is committed to the proactive management and effective control of the environmental impact of the Company’s activities, and will make a positive contribution to the environment through a number of strategic activities.
Attenda is pleased to have been awarded CarbonNeutral® company status in recognition of all its internal and external activities to quantify CO₂ emissions, independently verify and reduced to net zero. We have realised that it is not possible for Attenda to offset all of its emissions solely through business change, so the remainder is offset to zero by our investing in carbon credits within the Green Globe Portfolio. This programme is of Verified Emission Reductions (VERs) with 60% being invested in renewable energy schemes, and the other 40% being invested in resource conservation schemes.Attenda’s Environmental Strategy:
- Promotes environmental responsibility and awareness amongst all employees, and encourages partners and suppliers to be environmentally aware of their activities
- Requires Attenda to fully understand the environmental status of goods and services procured and ensure that they have the lowest possible carbon footprint
- Requires pro-active management of waste production, seeking all opportunities for reduction and reuse before engaging in recycling initiatives. As an example, over 90% of waste is recycled and reused instead of being sent to landfill
- Provides Clients with clear and helpful information on the environmental impact of their infrastructure and provide the CarbonNeutral Attenda hosting programme to allow clients to immediately achieve and report a net zero impact from their infrastructure hosted within Attenda's data centres, with a certification mark that gives clients a clear and recognisable mark to demonstrate action against climate change
- Maintains awareness of emerging developments in energy efficient IT infrastructure, facilities management initiatives, changes to working practices and implementing these where a positive environmental impact can be identified
- Adopts a responsible approach to employee travel: encouraging car sharing in fuel efficient vehicles and promoting the use of public transport where possible
- Provides regular updates on Attenda’s environmental performance to Clients, investors, employees and anyone else interested in the company’s environmental responsibility
