Delivering Flexible, Business-led Reporting with our new Client Portal

Our service management follows the ITIL v3 process framework, combining traditional systems and service management disciplines. The new Client portal will provide you with greatly enhanced visibility of the service that we deliver.

Client Portal

As an integral part of our Vision for IT Services 2010, we have set out to provide Clients with visibility of their service operation through flexible business-led reporting and KPIs. Our priority in creating the new Client portal has been to make the reporting more flexible and customisable, which demanded a complete re-engineering of our reporting tools. With the new portal architecture, all of the reports come from a central data warehouse, resulting in a greater consistency of appearance, as well as substantially more flexibility.

Some highlighed features of the new portal include:

  • Ability to use ad-hoc date ranges in reports.

  • A wider range of pre-defined reporting periods, such as 'Last Quarter', 'Past 12 Months' etc for use in saved reports.

  • 'My Favourite' reports area where you can save and organise frequently used reports.
    - Pre-defined and user-defined report object groups, allowing you to easily report on subsets of servers, organising them in a way that makes sense to you.

  • Much longer data retention periods, up to 18 months for some data streams at the time of launch, but going forward data will be retained for five years.

  • 'Home Page' reports area where you can save and organise reports that you may want to view on the configurable home page.

  • Direct download of underlying report data to either CSV or XML files.
  • The new portal provides a framework that will facilitate the delivery of enhanced functionality in the future, with a planned programme of additional improvements, including real time reports, delivery of reports to mobiles, blackberry and other devices. There is also the potential for future online ordering services. The portal is now live with the first 12 Clients and is scheduled for rollout to all Clients over the next couple of months.
